Infiltration bid foiled, hideout busted in Poonch

Poonch, Sep 14 (UNI) The troops foiled an infiltration bid on Line of Control(LoC) and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to police sources, about ten armed militants tried to sneak into Indian side under the cover of darkness last night at Tarkundi sector. When troops challenged them, led to exchange of fire that forced the infiltrators to return to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).

However, defence sources did not confirm about such incident in the area.

In another incident, security forces busted a hideout in Mangnar village in the district and recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition.

This included three AK 74 rifles, three magzines, 82 AK rounds, 17 grenades, 164 PIKA ammunition, one Chinese pistol and one magzine, seven rounds of pistol, one high frequency wireless set with antinae and five kgs IED , sources added.
