India U-19 declare innings at 611/9, Pak reel at 109/6

Peshawar, Sep 14 (UNI) After Tanmay Srivastava's (220) double ton, promising spinner Piyush Chawla (146) showed his prowess with the bat as the Indian under-19 team declared their first innings at a mammoth 611 for nine and then reduced Pakistan to 196 for six to tighten their grip over the second four-day match here today.

With a mountain to climb, the Pakistani colts finished day two on 109 for six with Riaz Kail (17) and Jahanzeb Abdullah (1) in the crease.

Resuming on their overnight score of 393 for four, India today reached the huge total of 611 for nine with Chawla leading the charge.

The Pakistan under-19 team started with a debacle, losing opener Ahmed Shehzad for a duck and the other opener Shan Masood (7) too departed early.

Moinuddin (53) resisted the Indian attack for some times but Chawla got the vitalo wicket and Ishan Sharma then claimed a brace to push the hosts to the back foot.

Ishant was the pick of Indian bowlers, claiming two for 15.
