Kolkata, Sept 14 (UNI) Computer hardware and peripherals brand Hewlet Packard (HP) is eyeing the office paper market with the launch of "HP Everyday Paper" in India.

Office paper market in India stands at around 3 lakh metric tonnes every year. HP is looking at a major pie of paper market in the country, Lim Choon Huat, business manager, International Paper (Asia) Pte Ltd, the official distributors of HP paper products, said.

Hoping that India would become a major centre for HP's paper division after China in the Asia Pacific region, International Paper is looking at viability of setting up a production centre in the country, Huat said.

Presently, the paper products would be sourced from the paper mills at Brazil, he said.

Initially the company is targetting the four metroes for marketing HP's paper products in the country. Going forward HP's paper products would be taken to tier 1 and 2 cities.

HP, the 90 billion US dollar company, derives major chunk of its revenues from printing and supplies and the paper division contributes only a fraction of its revenues.
