House prays for long life of Amarinder

Chandigarh, Sep 14 (UNI) Punjab Assembly Speaker Kewal Krishan today led the House in praying for the long life of Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and his colleagues -- Local Bodies Minister Chaudhary Jagjit Singh and PWD Minister Partap Singh Bajwa -- who had a providential escape when their helicopter crash-landed at Rajowa village in Gurdaspur district on Tuesday.

Before taking up the regular business slated for today, the Speaker said he, along with members of the House, would like to thank the Almighty for the providential escape of the leader of the House, Capt Amarinder Singh, his cabinet colleagues and others accompanying them in chopper that crash-landed while on way to attend a public rally in Gurdaspur district on September 12.

''We pray to the Almighty for their long life and wish that they continue to serve the people of the state for decades to come'', he said.
