Hindi Day celebrated in Bihar
Patna, Sep 14 (UNI)-Hindi Day was observed in Bihar today with a view to promoting Hindi as the official language and popularise the national language along the length and breadth of the country.
The official celebration of Hindi was held under the auspices of Rajbhasa department where besides scholars frrom academic field and litterateurs took part besides Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and chairman of legislative council Arun Kumar.
Addressing the elite gathering, Mr Nitish Kumar said the day was not far away when Hindi would be accepted as an official language in the comity of nations.
''Linguists and scholars should work in tandem to complete the daunting task of making Hindi a simple and easily comprehensible language for common people'',he emphasised.
He described Hindi language as a medium for strenghthening the communal harmony and promoting amity among different sections of the society since Hindi is spoken and understood by most people across the country.
Mr Kumar asked the officials of Rajbhasa department to initiate steps for making the official communication in Hindi as simple and effective as possible.
