HC asks Heritage Committee to look into matter of OVAL Maidan
Mumbai, Sep 14 (UNI) Bombay High Court today directed the Mumbai Heritage Conservation Committee to consider the request of Dilip Vengsarkar's Elf Academy's requirements as well as the Organisation of Verdant Ambience Land (OVAL) Trust's objections and submit their view in four weeks.
A division bench comprising Justices R M Lodha and S A Bobde were hearing a public interest litigation filed by the OVAL Trust alleging that the Elf Academy was not removing the playing material used after their practice despite court orders passed in 1995 allowing only a roller and nets to remain on the grounds.
The court asked the MHCC to consider three points of action -- provision for urinal, provision for 10 by 15 feet changing area and six side screens on wheels -- on the grounds by finding an aesthetic and decent way without flouting any rules.
