Haryans sports deptt releases sports calendar for 2006-07
Chandigarh, Sep 14 (UNI) The Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Department has released its revised calender of activities for the year 2006-07.
Stating this here today, a spokesman of the department said that the block level women sports festival would be held at each block on September 29 and 30 and of district level at all district headquarters on October 3 and 4. The state level women sports festival would be held at Karnal from October 6 to 8.
The State level Inter Centre Gymnastic Competition would be held at Jhajjar next month.
He said that the block level competition for boys and girls under-16, of rural areas, would be held in all blocks on October 10 and 11 and the district level Rural Sports Meet for under 16 boys and girls would be held at all district headquarters on October 13 and 14.
The State level Rural Sports Festival for under 16 girls would be held at Yamunanagar from October 16 to 18 and in case of boys it would be held at Panipat from October 24 to 26.
The district level School Tournament for both boys and girls under 16 would be held at all district headquarters on November 2 and 3. The State Level School Tournament for girls would be held at Kurukshetra from November 6 to 8 and the State level School Tournament for boys under 16 would be held at Narwana from November 15 to 17.
The District Akhara Competition (Kumar and Kesari) would be held at all district headquarters on November 20 and 21. The State level Akhara Competition and Haryana Kumar Kesari Wrestling would be held at Sonipat from November 24 to 26.
The Haryana State Paralympics Sports Competition for physically challenged persons would be held at Faridabad from November 28 to 30. The Inter Centre Sports Competition in Athletics, Hockey, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Handball for under 17 boys and girls would be held at Hisar from December 6 to 8.
He said that the Marathon and Rural Sports Festival would be held on Basant Panchmi in Rohtak. He said that Refresher Courses for various coaches would be conducted at Panchkula, Ambala, Kurukshetra, Hisar and Faridabad from January 22 to 28, next year.
