Godrej and Boyece targets 25% growth this fiscal
Kolkata, Sep 14 (UNI) Concentrating on marketing its newly launched appliances, Godrej and Boyece has targeted a 25 per cent growth in revenues this year.
"We have targeted to increase revenues to Rs.1,000 crore this year from Rs. 750 crore by consolidating our strength in microwave ovens, DVD and airconditioners which we have launched over the past two years besides, frost free refrigerators and washing machines," President and Executive Director P.D.Lam said.
Speaking at the launch of EON range of frost free refrigerators, Mr.Lam said the company was also expecting an export worth Rs. 300 crore this year which had been steadily growing from five crore in 1992.
GBMCL (Appliances Division) Chief Coordinating Officer George Menzes said the company had a plan to sell about one lakh frost free refrigerators across the country in six months and double its market share from 12 per cent.
In reply to a question, Mr.Menzes said the company had plans to increase its total production capacity in two plants to 1.5 million units from the present one million units in a year.
He said the company was banking heavily on the highly growing markets of microwave oven, DVD players and airconditioners.
