Four women washed away in the flash floods in Gadag district
Hubli, Sep 14 (UNI) Four women of a family were washed away in the flash floods at a Gulbi nallah in Gadag district late yesterday evening following heavy rains.
Official sources said, the victims of the flash floods in Gulbi nalla were labourers and were returning to their village along with ten others when the flash floods struck. Ten were rescued while four women-Basamma Jaggal, Shekaravva Jaggal, Madavva Jaggal and Kavita Jaggal belonging to a single family of Kotumuchagi village were swept away.
Senior police and revenue officials have rushed to the spot and search was on for the victims.
Nargund taluk of Gadag district received a record rainfall of 151.08 mm throwing the normal life out of gear in seven villages in the taluk. Several houses were inundated in the low lying areas of these villages.
