Credit Suisse gets new Investment Banking Head

New Delhi, Sept 14: Swiss banking giant Credit Suisse today announced the appointment of Mr V Anantharaman as the Head of its Investment Banking Department in India.

Mr Anantharaman will report to Mr Joseph Gallagher, Head of the Investment Banking Department in Asia Pacific ex-Japan, and Mr Mihir Doshi, Head of the Investment Banking Division in India.

He has 19 years of investment banking and corporate finance experience and his appointment will give Credit Suisse access and penetration to key corporate and institutional clients. He will lead in the origination, structuring and execution of transactions for Credit Suisse's Indian and international clients.

He joins Credit Suisse after three years as the Head of Corporate Advisory for Standard Chartered Bank. Prior to that, Mr Anantharaman was the Head of Global Corporate Finance, India, for Deutsche Bank, where he helped setting up its investment banking unit.
