Constable arrested for taking bribe in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Sep 15 (UNI) Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials from Sangli today arrested a constable for accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a person here.

The constable identified as Kiran Bhosale was caught while accepting the bribe from Amit Pramod Minache.

Bhosle had arrested Ami Minache from Ichalkaranji on September 2 for stocking illegal gas cylinders and asked a bribe of Rs 25,000 to settle the matter. The bribe amount was brought down to Rs 15,000, of which Rs 10,000 had already been paid.

Acting on a complaint filed by Amit, the constable was arrested while collecting the remaining bribe amount of Rs 5,000.
