Collector's clarification on compensation

Kakinada, Sep 14 (UNI) East Godavari District Collector M Subramanyam today clarified that compensation of Rs 1.5 lakh would be given to the families of those who died in the recent floods in Amalapuram division of the district.

In a statement issued here the Collector said that the government paid Rs 50,000 under a 'padbadnu' scheme to the eligible persons and the ineligible persons under this scheme were sanctioned Rs 50,000 from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.

The remaining Rs one lakh would be disbursed from the National Calamity Fund (Prime Ministers Relief Fund) and accounts were opened for the family members deceased and sent to the Relief Commission for passing on to Centre for necessary action and the amount would be credited to the family members.
