Bail plea of blast accused adjourned to Sep 20

Mumbai, Sep 14 (UNI) Additional Sessions court today adjourned the bail plea hearing of an alleged accused in the Februay 27, 1998, Mumbai blast case to September 20.

Additional Sessions Judge J S Kalyanpur adjourned the matter to September 20 as the accused was not produced before the court today by the jail authorities.

The accused filed an application before the sessions court seeking bail on the ground that he had been in jail for the past eight years without any progress in trial.

The applicant was arrested along with 13 others and made an approver in the case but later he turned hostile and separate charges were framed against him in 2002.

Four men were killed and 30 injured in the blast at Bhura Chawl in Santacruz East.
