Written by: Staff

Itanagar, Sep 14 (UNI) Arunachal Cricket Association(ACA) has decided to pursue the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) to obtain their affiliation, for all round development of cricket in the state.

The just re-constituted ACA has its new president in minister for Public Works Department and Urban Development Nabam Tuki who is keen to strengthen the existing district and block level cricket clubs to promote the sport in the state, ACA sources today said.

The ACA, constituted in 1997, could not carry out major jobs due to financial crunch. It is now all set to give a fillip to the game with the selection of Chief Minister Gegong Apang as its chief patron and Finance Minister Kaliko Pul and Chief Secretary Tabo Bam as patrons.

Former ACA president Tado Kholi would be the general secretary while, state NCP president Aath Tacho Kabak and advocate R H Nabam would be the vice-presidents of the reconstituted body.

Immediately after taking over charge of the ACA at an executive body meeting here yesterday, Tuki said his top most priority would be to get the ACA affiliated with the national sporting bodies to receive financial and technical support.

Meanwhile, ACA rescheduled its proposed inter district cricket tournament from the month of October to November next, sources added.
