Imphal, Sep 14 (UNI) The All Manipur Muslim Students Organisation (AMMSO) has been urged by various other organisations to suspend the four general strike scheduled today.

The AMMSO had also called an indefinite economic blockade on the two national highways here demanding ten per cent reservation in state's various job and educational institutes.

Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh had urged the students to keep patience as reservations on the basis of religion can not be announced as desired by them.

Expressing concern over the conditions of the minorities the government was trying to chalk out a feasible solution for them, Mr Ibobi Singh said.

The Chief Minister also informed that these students have burnt his own effigy and burried the effigies of Speaker Maniruddin Sheikh and Cabinet Minister Allaudin Khan.

He said '' Reservation is a delicate issue and the government has to face dire consequences if anything goes wrong.'' UNI NS PP AKP SI VV1425
