NCSC issues notice to police officers in SC woman's rape case

Indore, Sep 13 (UNI) The National Commission for Scheduled Caste (NCSC) today issued notices to the IG (Gwalior), the Morena Collector and the SP in connection with a SC woman being paraded nude and raped.

Taking cognizance of newspaper report in a evening daily, NCSC member Phoolchand Verma sought information regarding action taken in the matter within a week.

He directed to make available assistance to the victim under the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

According to the newspaper report, a woman in Morena district's Lohabasai village was paraded nude and later raped by three persons over a land-related dispute.
