Budhia to show his skills as judoka
Lucknow, Sep 13 (UNI) After creating a world record by running more than 65 km, wonder kid Budhia will now show his skills at 17th edition of the Sub Junior National Judo championship here.
Five-year-old Budhia, also an expert judoka, would not participate in the bouts due to his pre-engagements with a steel company, which appointed him as the Brand Ambassador. Instead, he would demonstrate his skills in front of more than 800 judokas and officials of the game on September 17, according to tournament's secretary Munnawar Anzar.
Budhia would be honoured by the officials for his outstanding performance, Mr Anzar said. Besides Budhia, the gold medal winner of the SAF Games Garima Chowdhary and her coach A C Saxena would also be honoured by the U P Judo association on September 15.
A total of 30 teams, about 800 judokas and officials from all over India would participate in the championship to be held in five different categories. Bouts are slated to held on Septermber 15, 16 and 17 consecutively.
The last edition was held at Salt Lake, Kolkata, in which Harayana won the overall team championship claiming 7 gold, 2 silver and equal number of bornze medals.
