New Delhi, Sep 13 (UNI) Ansal API today said it has recieved a formal approval by concerned authorities to create new Special Economic Zone (SEZ) at Murthal, Haryana and Neemrana, Rajasthan, at a total cost of Rs 7,353 crore.

The project at Murthal is an ambitious Rs 800 crore single product engineering-based industry SEZ over an area of 255 acres and is expected to be completed in three years.

The company expects that there will be an initial export turnover of Rs 400-450 crore. This SEZ is also expected to generate employment for about 20,000 people.

The reason behind selection of Murthal as engineering based industry SEZ is its previous year total export from Sonepat of Rs 1,320 crore, of which Rs 732 crore came only from Engineering Goods.

At API's SEZ, the land will be equally divided between processing and non-processing areas. The non-processing area will include residential zones, commercial complexes, community structures, hotels, banks and all other facilities that define a modern lifestyle.

Of the total area of 255 acres of land, 30-35 per cent area will be dedicated to residential zones, 15-20 per cent to commercial and 25-30 per cent area to common infrastructure like roads, parking areas, green belts and the like.

However, Neemrana is a Rs 6,553 crore multi products based industry SEZ over an area of 2,500 acres and expected to be completed within six years.

The company selected this area due to the good connectivity by rail, road and air, availability of power and skilled labour apart from the developed industrial corridor of Gurgaon, Manesar, Dharuhera, Bhiwadi, Bawal and Neemrana.

It is expected that there will be an initial export turnover of Rs 1,000-1,500 crore. This SEZ is expected to generate employment for nearly 1.5 lakh people.

The land will be distributed as 35 per cent to the processing area and 65 per cent to the non processing area. The power requirement will be 125-150 MW.

''The forward looking approach of Ansal API and its commitment to develop small towns into centers of excellence and growth has led it to join the band of leaders spearheading this new wave of development,'' Ansal API Chairman Sushil Ansal said.

The company is also planning to set up IT parks at Lucknow, Chandigarh, Panipat, Meerut, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Patiala. The group has already received approval for its IT based SEZ in Greater Noida.
