Ten officers penalised for irrregularities

Bhopal, Sep 12 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government today decided to take strict action against 10 officers of different departments found guilty of committing irregularities.

They include retired officers of Forest, Water Resources and Medical departments.

The state cabinet presided over by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today decided to withhold 5 per cent pension of retired state administrative service officer Ranglal Jaipal for one year as a departmental inquiry found him guilty of defying government order in a habitual manner.

The cabinet decided to institute a departmental inquiry against retired ophthalmologist Dr S S Bundela for irregularities in the purchase of medicines and equipments, official sources said.

It was decided to permanently withhold the pension of retired Assistant Engineer Badri Singh Thakur after the court found him guilty of irregularities. The Lokayukta police also registered a case against him for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The cabinet decided to institute a departmental inquiry against retired Executive Engineer R P Singh and to permanently withold 20 per cent pension of retired Executive Engineer P L Nahir. It was also decided to withhold five per cent income of retired Assistant Engineer R S Shrivastava for 2 years. They were found guilty of committing irregularities in canal work in Sidhi district.

The cabinet decided to recover in lumpsum an amount equivalent to two increments with non-cumulative effect from the pension of retired Executive Engineer A L Gupta. It was decided to permanently withhold cent per cent pension of two forest officers -Chintamani Patel and R P Shrivastava- after they were punished by the court.
