Proposal to make Sanskrit education compulsory
Bhopal, Sep 12 (UNI) In a bid to revive Sanskrit language in Madhya Pradesh, a proposal to make the study of the language compulsory from class I to class XII in schools is under consideration.
A meeting of the Madhya Pradesh Sanskrit Board chaired by School Education Minister Narottam Mishra also decided to keep Sanskrit schools, unlike normal schools, free from security besides running government Sanskrit schools up to Uttar Madhyama level.
Mr Mishra directed to keep the district Sanskrit incharge free from the responsibility of teaching, connecting government Sanskrit schools (class I to class VIII) to Sarva Shiksha and arranging for its staff and building besides fixing posting of middle and high school assistant teachers, teachers and lecturers, an official release here said today.
He said recruitment process of 900 Sanskrit teachers was underway and directed concerned officers to complete the formalities fast.
Mr Mishra also gave detailed information about the proposed Sanskrit College to be set up in Ujjain.
