Sensex loses 200 pts in noon trade on weak global markets

Mumbai, Sep 11 (UNI) Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) sensitive index (Sensex) which was in a correction mode, fell 200 points this afternoon on account of weak global markets and slide in BSE indices like metals.

The crude oil price was less than US dollar 66 per barrel mark.

Currently, the Sensex is trading down at 11,718.52 points as compared to the previous close of 11,918.65.

All the BSE indices were down in the red, especially Metals sector was trading down by 3.26 per cent. Other sectors were down led by Bankex which was down by 1.57 per cent, Health Care index down by 1.64 per cent and FMCG was down by 1.99 per cent.

Major gainers on the index were Hero Honda up by 1.77 per cent and Reliance Communications up by 0.35 per cent.

Besides the losers were Hindalco down by 3.97 per cent, HLL down by 3.51 per cent, Tata Steel down by 3.29 per cent, Reliance Energy down by 3.03 per cent, Tata Motors down by 2.91 per cent, BHEL down by 2.87 per cent, Cipla down by 2.69 per cent, HDFC Bank down by 2.46 per cent, TCS down by 2.17 per cent and Gujarat Ambuja down by 2.13 per cent.
