Ranchi, Sep 11 (UNI) Leader of Rashtriya Janata Dal Legislature party Annapurna Devi today demanded Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda to resign as the BJP-led NDA government in state was reduced to a minority after the resignation of four ministers from the Munda Cabinet.

The four, ministers - Mr Kamlesh Singh, Harinarain Rai, Anos Ekka and Madhu Koda - resigned on September five.

Talking to UNI over phone, Ms Annpurna said the UPA had the support of 43 MLAs required for the majority in the state Assembly and urged Mr Munda to resign on moral grounds.

She said the UPA would vote against the BJP-led NDA government on September 14 when Mr Munda has to rove his majority on the floor of the house.

She said reports of misunderstanding among the UPA partners were baseless and alleged that Mr Munda was trying to create confusion on the issue.

The RJD leader said their was no confusion regarding leadership and the UPA partners would unanimously elect the leader.

Ms Devi said the state government was in minority and so it should not take any policy decision and criticised Speaker Inder Singh Namdhari for issuing notices to three MLAs - Mr Kamlesh Singh, Anos Ekka and Stephen Marandi, under Anti-defection law.
