Reel life ''Bapu'' brings pirates to book
Mumbai, Sep 11 (UNI) The reel life Bapu, played by noted Marathi film and theatre actor Dilip Prabhavalkar, in 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' today put his screen role into action in real life.
While travelling from Pune to Mumbai this morning, Prabhavalkar was taken aback when he saw a pirated version of 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' being screened in the bus, a spokesperson of Vidhu Vinod Chopra productions, producers of the film, said.
Prabhavalkar got into action and called director Rajkumar Hirani from the bus, who relayed the information to Ravi Reddy, a representative of the United Copyright Protection Association's (UCPA) anti-piracy cell.
Before the bus could reach the final destination, Reddy, along with a police squad from Matunga police station, intercepted and raided the bus at King's Circle in Central Mumbai.
Prabhavalkar who was still on the bus, aided the police and the UCPA squads in seizing the pirated copies of the film.
The accused have been rounded up for questioning and the neccessary action will be taken against the culprits, the spokesperson added.
