Public campaign on Centrallly sponsored schemes at ICAR
Shillong, Sept 11 (UNI) A five-day Bharat Nirman Campaign about flagship programmes of the UPA government would begin here tomorrow to highlight the achievements of the Centre.
The campaign would emphasise the salient features of the eight flagship programmes like National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, National Rural Health Mission, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Right to Information, Rural Infrastructure, Bharat Nirman and others.
Deputy Director General of Press Information of Bureau's North Eastern region B Narzary told reporters here today that Meghalaya Home Minister Robert Garnett Lyngdoh had consented to inaugurate public information campaign at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research complex at Umiam.
Mr Nazary said officials from both the Central and state governments would make the people of about 30 villages aware of the ongoing Centrally sponsored projects in the state and the country as a whole.
Similar campaign would be held in West Garo Hills district headquarter Tura from November 21 to 25, he informed.
Earlier, the PIB had organised such campaign in Aizwal of Mizoram and Guwahati of Asom wherein government officials highlighted the importance of the projects and how to avail them.
