Mumbai, Sep 11 (UNI) Following the seizure of explosives from an abandoned jeep in Tempa village near Shahpur in the neighbouring Thane district, the police have traced the papers of the vehicle today.

Deputy Suprintendent of Police (Thane) Archana Tyagi told UNI, ''All efforts are being diverted to locate the owner of the jeep and further arrests would be made according to leads.'' Declining to reveal further details, she said that police were looking into possible angles and proper investigation was being carried by the team.

The Thane police yesterday recovered a large stock of explosives that included 275 kg of gelatine sticks, 1,450 detonators, 250 kg of ammonium nitrate and 75 pieces of wires from the abandoned jeep.

The explosives were found after villagers informed the police about the same. The occupants of the jeep were absconding, she added.

The find assumes significance in the wake of the Malegaon bomb blasts, in which 31 people were killed on Friday.
