Orissa gov to spend Rs 250 cr for infrastructural rebuilding
Bhubaneswar, Sep 11(UNI) The Orissa government will spend Rs 250 crore to initiate infrastructural rebuilding process in 27 of the 30 districts recently hit by the floods.
''The state would spend Rs 250 crore to start post-flood reconstruction measures. There are plans to restore electricity in the affected areas within a week besides host of other developmental work'', Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said after an official review meeting here.
Announcing post-flood damage restoration as its top priority, he said the state would put in all its efforts to mitigate the suffering of the flood affected people.
Pending submission of final flood damage estimate to the Centre, which Orissa is set to complete within next six days, the state had demanded Rs 2029 crore as interim federal relief.
The Centre had deputed a seven member official team to asses flood damage in the state.
