One more person dies of suspected Chikungunya

Alappuzha, Sep 11 (UNI) One more person died of suspected Chikungunya in Chertala Taluk here, hospital sources said today.

One Kumaran (65) hailing from Chertala town died today morning, taking the total number of suspected Chikungunya deaths in the district to seven.

Earlier, six people, identified as Carmalie (65), Biju (33), Juliet (55), Sleshmanan (62), Narayani (73) and Jayaprasad (48), had reportedly died of the disease.

At present, more than 542 suspected Chikungunya patients had been admitted to the Cherthala Taluk Hospital.
