Minister challenges TRS Chief to resign and face electorate

Hyderabad, Sep 11 (UNI) Reacting sharply to the statement of TRS Chief K Chandrasekhara Rao that he had won his Assembly seat only with TRS support, Sports Minister M Satyanarayana Rao today challenged him to resign his Lok Sabha seat and face him in a bypoll.

Offering to resign his MLA seat and Ministership at a press meet here, Mr Satyanarayana Rao said whoever lost should leave politics.

He said during the last Assembly poll, Mr Chandrasekhara Rao had tried to sabotage his election and failed. He had secured the TRS chief's release when he was arrested in a cheating case, he said, adding Mr Rao had sought his help when naxals threatened him.

In a recent public meeting at Siddipet in Medak district, Mr Chandrasekhara Rao said Mr Satyanarayana Rao, who lost his deposit during the previous poll, won in 2004 only because of TRS support.
