Bangalore, Sep 11 (UNI) The Karnataka Government will take up in the next Cabinet meeting, slated for September 13, the issue of starting work on the Kalasa Banduri Nala Drinking Water project before October, Water Resources Minister K S Ishwarappa said today.

Talking to reporters here, he said he was unable to understand the objections raised by Goa for taking up the project.

The project aimed at providing drinking water to the twin cities of Hubli-Dharwad by diverting water from river Mahadayi, which flowed to Goa downstream.

The Minister said the Government had taken up three irrigation projects of the 39 promised in the budget and another six projects would be taken up in November. The Government was committed to complete all the 39 projects, he added.
