JIPMER Director urges employees to resume duty
Pondicherry, Sep 11 (UNI) Director of JIPMER hospital K S V K Suba Rao today, once again, appealed to the striking employees to drop their agitation and resume duty.
Patients care was badly affected following the dislocation of work on account of the four-day-old strike by the hospital's staff, he said in a statement.
Despite personal discussions by a team of officials and written clarifications from the Central Government, Ministry of Health and Family welfare, the employees continued their strike, which was unwarranted and illegal, he added.
Dr Rao called upon the striking employees to return to duty immediately to avoid further inconvenience to the patients, failing which action will be taken against them as per CCA (Conduct) Rules, 1964.
The strike will adversely affect their service conditions and terminal benifits, among others, he warned.
