Jharkhand signs MoU to Rs 12,200 crore for coal based power plant

Ranchi, Sep 11 (UNI) Two new coal based pit head power plant witha total capacity of 3200 MW will be set up in Jharkhand with an investment of Rs 12,200 crore.

The state government today signed two MOUs with G S W Energy Ltd and Aditya Birla Power Company in this regard.

A 2000 MW power plant would be set up by GSW in two phases with an investment of about Rs 8,000 crore. Aditya Birla Power Company Limited would set up a 1,200 MW plant with an investment of about Rs 4200 crore.

The MOUs were signed by State Energy Secretary H Tripathi and representatives of the two companies.

Chief Minister Arjun Munda, Chief secretary M K Mandal, Industry Secretary A K Singh and Industry Director R Purwar were present at the ocassion.
