Italian Cos mull big plans for Indian markets

New Delhi, Sep 11: Italian companies are looking forward to establish themselves in the field of manufacturing through joint ventures/technology transfers and investment in India, said Mr Maurizio Miranda, President, Indo Italian Institute for Trade and Technology and FIEI Federitalia Export Import.

In the next three years the Italian companies will concentrate on Indian markets and organise various events to create awareness to enable successful project implementation between India and Italy, Mr Miranda said while addressing the members of All India Association of Industries (AIAI).

Addamiano Partecipazioni SRL Group Chairman Matteo Addamiano, who was part of the delegation, said they were interested in supporting logistics, technology, telecom, township, transformation of SEZ, and non-polluting technologies for Indian Industries.

Many Italian companies were looking forward to opening their offices in India as they were keen on investing in the country, he said, adding that he was open to strategic alliances for his group of companies.

AIAI President Vijay G Kalantri said, ''Indian economy is growing at 8 per cent and there are tremendous opportunities for investment in India specially in sectors of pharma, auto components, textiles, apparels and other potentials area of growth such as infrastructure.''
