Dabur OncQuest to increase number of collection centres

Kolkata, Sep 10 (UNI) Dabur OncQuest, the leader in Indian oncology medical testing market, would take the number of specimen collection centres in India and abroad to 45 by March 31, 2007.

The company has 30 specimen collection centres, including one in Kolkata.

"The company has decided to open 15 collection centres by March 31,2007 both in India and overseas. Our Colombo centre will open soon and plans are on to set up a collection centre at Kathmandu in Nepal," Dabur OncQuest head-diagnostics Vivek Trikha said.

Specimens collected at these centres are reaching its laboratory at Delhi for the testing purposes. Dabur Group started this company in 2001 to offer one-stop shop for cancer tests.

"By the end of this fiscal we will open two more specimen collection centres in West Bengal, including one in North Bengal. We have appointed an agency to conduct the market survey for us," he said.

The company has also approached the West Bengal government, stating its interest to form tie-up with the government hospitals.

Dabur OncQuest has made arrangements with Thakurpukur Cancer Hospital, BP Poddar Hospital and a few others in West Bengal.

The company has tie-ups with over 100 hospitals in the country, including Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Apollo in Delhi.

Dabur OncQuest has introduced a number of techniques to evaluate the structure of DNA, RNA or proteins in cells.

"We will further add the new technologies at our laboratory, once they come in the market. In next five years we want to become an internationally accreditated oncology testing major," Aditya C.
