Congress condemns vandalism by BJP's youth wing
New Delhi, Sept 11: The Congress today condemned the vandalism indulged in by the youth wing of the BJP and Shiv Sena in the Loreto School in Lucknow, and said the incident showed the true face of the BJP and its frontal organisations that they always waited for the slightest excuse to create tension and divide the society.
"Whether it is the murder of a professor in Ujjain or violent incidents in Gujarat or Madhya Pradesh it all showed a pattern and a diabolic design to divide the society,"Congress Spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said.
"The BJP had a hidden agenda to deny India its glorious pluralism",he told reporters here.
At the same time, Mr Singhvi said, the educational institutions, whether it was aided or unaided, majority or minority, were not entitled to mislead the people by superstititous ideas and meaningless rituals which have no bearing on education.
The educational institutions should perform the role of friend, philosopher and guide. They should not do anything that encourages superstition, he said.
