CM orders formation of Scientific Tamil Council

Chennai, Sep 11 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi ordered the formation of a Scientific Tamil Council under the leadership of notable Tamil scholar Manavai Mustafa.

An official release here said yesterday the government during the recent budget session had made an announcement in this regard in order to promote scientific Tamil.

Prof M P Balasubramaniam will be the Vice-President of the council, while Erode Tamilanpan, Poet M Metha, Prof Suba Veerapandiayan, Dr Kanthaaj, Mrs Saradha Nambiarooran and Dr Samuvel Right will be the members of the council.

The Government's Tamil Development Department's secretary would be the member secretary of the council, the release added.
