Christians protest police action in church
Surat, Sept 11 (UNI) A large number of CNI Christian community members yesterday gathered in front of the Chowk Bazar police station to protest against seizure of church's mike.
The agitators said that PI Ajabsingh Rathod had allegedly ordered the seizure of the CNI's church's mike for disobeying norms laid down for loudspaekers and also threatened to arrest the pastor of the Church.
However, city police commissioner Sudhir Sinha and area Deputy Police Commissioner V Chandrasekhar intervened last night and settled the issue, sources said.
The 200-year old CNI church is situated very close to Chowk Bazar police station.
