Bangalore, Sept 11 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party national leaders will take up with the UPA government the issue of alleged 'step-motherly' treatment meted out to Karnataka in release of funds for taking up relief works in flood affected and drought hit areas in the State, Minister for Higher Education D H Shankaramurthy said today.

Talking to newsmen here, he said that the matter was raised in the recently concluded BJP National Executive meeting held in Dehra Dun and the party leaders have assured to take up the issue with the Union Government.

Mr Shankaramurthy alleged that the Centre has been extending financial help to neighbouring Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra but has neglected Karnataka in releasing funds to fight natural calamity.
