Suman cracks century in Moin-UD-Dowlah

Hyderabad, Sep 10 (UNI) Tirumala Setty Suman cracks century while Railways bowled out Mumbai for a paltry 202 in the quarterfinals of the All India Moin-ud-dowlah Gold Cup cricket tournament here today.

Suman, in his stay of 199 minutes, facing 159 balls hit 13 fours and one sixer and scored exactly 100 runs. With this Hyderabad made 328 for the loss of seven wickets in 90 overs. Shahank Nag (36 with 3x4), Md Ibrahim Khaleel (48 with 4x4), N Arjun Yadav (44 with 4x4, 1x6) supported Suman. Rajib Saha (4/67) and Tushar Saha (2/101) topped among Tripura bowlers.

In another quarter final match Yera Gowda (47 off 93 balls, 3x4), Devraj Patil (31 off 45 balls, 6x4), C Raghu (29, 4x4) and Robin Uthappa (28, 5x4) and N C Aiyappa (22, 4x4) helped Karnataka post moderate score of 201 all out in 64.5 overs. Satish (6/47) and T Yohanan (2/63) were the pick of the Chemplast bowlers.

Later Chemplast made 47 without losing a wicket in 10 overs Tamil Nadu Colts put into bat made 290 all out in 80.1 overs against India Cements. Anirudha (60, off 50 balls, 12x4), R Srinivasan (75 off 146 balls with 8x4), K H Gopinath (53 off 99 balls with 6x4) were the chief scorers, while Sree Kumar Nair (4/76), Suresh Kumar (4/73) shone with the ball for India Cements.

Later India Cements made a shaky start, losing two wickets with 13 runs on the board.

Mumbai electing batting made 202 runs in 79 overs. Barring Abhijit Shetye (45 off 116 balls, 3x4), Prashant Naik (41 off 63 balls 4x4) and Wasim Jaffer (40 off 60 balls, 4x4) others failed to make big scores. Ashwin Yadav (4/56) and Rahul Thakur (2/65) were pick of the Railway bowlers.
