Somaiya demands resignation of Union and Maharashtra Home Ministers

Mumbai, Sep 10 (UNI) Criticising the seven bomb blasts that took place during last 12 months at important places in the country and the government's failure to apprehend the culprits, former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya today demanded resignations of both the Union and Maharashtra Home Ministers.

Addressing a programme of 'Shankhnaad' for anti-terrorism campaign, Dr Somaiya said both the State and Centre had failed completely in controlling terrorism. The programme was inaugurated by of Kamal Khemka, who lost half of his right hand during the 7/11 Mumbai bomb blasts killing 187 people.

Ten blast victims or their relatives attended the programme. Dr Somaiya told UNI he will organise 100 small meetings in North East Mumbai area and the party will establish contact with at least five lakh people as part of the campaign.

Three big meetings will be organised as part of the programme and BJP vice president Venkaiah Naidu, state BJP president Nitin Gadkari, Gopinath Munde, Pandurang Phundkar, will attend the meetings, added Mr Somaiya.
