One dies in blast in house in Noida, ten injured

Noida, Sep 10 (UNI) One person died while ten others were injured, three of them critically, in a fire in a house in a village here.

The blast occured in the house of Memchand, who runs a Diesel peti (small diesel) pump in Rashulpur village here when one of the diesel drums lying in his house accidentally caught fire, police said.

The fire soon engulfed other drums, resulting in the house catching fire, which later spread to nearby houses.

One person, later identified as Satish, the son of Memchand, was found dead while ten persons were injured, three of them critically.

The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals in Delhi, Ghaziabad and Dadri.

Police said the death toll in the incident is likely to go up.
