Manipur flora expo a grand success

Imphal, Sep 10 (UNI) The dried flowers displayed by Manipur in the second International Flora Expo 2006 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, was a major attraction to the visitors.

Manipur Information Centre joint director Meghachandra Koijam said President A.P.J.Abdul Kalam had inaugurated the Flora Expo on Friday last.

He said 135 floriculture companies, including that of Netherlands, Japan, Israel, Germany, Italy and Singapore took part in the Expo.

The state stall sponsored by the Technology Mission Cell of the state's Horticulture and Soil Conservation department exhibited floral products of the state.

State's Mushroom Development Society Secretary W.Welson Sani was the promoter of the products of IDEAS, an enterprise of dried flowers arrangement and other decorative items.
