Malegaon, Sep 10 (UNI) Police today arrested one person in connection with the Malegaon blasts and released sketches of the two suspects who had purchased the bicycles that were used in the attack.

Earlier, ten people had been detained for questioning.

Police had identified the shop, from where the brand new bicycles used in the Friday serial bomb blasts were purchased and have taken the shopkeeper's son into custody.

Meanwhile, the situation in the communally sensitive powerloom town has improved remarkably, sources said.

Thirty-eight people were killed and nearly 150 injured in the three blasts that rocked the city on Friday.

Investigation indicate that the explosives were time-bombs and were manufactured indigenously. Apart from the bombs that exploded, the police also defused two live bombs which were found in the graveyard there.

Malegaon, a city situated on the Mumbai-Agra highway has a population of about seven lakh people out of which nearly 75 per cent belong to the minority community.

Five kg RDX was seized from the town in May along with several AK 47 rifles and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
