Loaded magazine, live cartridges found from Cong MP bag's at airport

Varanasi, Sep 10 (UNI) A .32 bore magazine and five live cartridges were today found from the baggage of City Congress MP Rajesh Mishra at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport here.

According to CISF Commandant Rohitash Kumar, the ammunition was recovered during X-ray scan of a bag of the Congress leader as he was about to board the Delhi-bound IC 805 flight of Indian at 1540 hrs.

Mr Mishra was allowed to board the flight after he produced a valid gun license. However, the magazine and cartridges were confiscated.

Interestingly, the recovery was done only after the MP cleared the first gate of security.

A complaint in this regard has been lodged at Phulpur police station, Mr Kumar said.

A high alert is on at airports across the country in view of the anniversary of 9/11 terrorist attacks on the US.
