Large quantity of gelatine sticks, detonators found in Thane
Thane, Sep 10 (UNI) Police recovered a large quantity of explosives from Temba village near Shahapur in the neighbouring Thane district today.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Archana Tyagi told UNI that the explosives included 275 kg of gelatine sticks, 1,450 detonators, 250 kg of ammonium nitrate and 75 pieces of wires.
The explosives were found in an abandoned jeep after villagers informed the police about the same. The occupants of the jeep are absconding, she added.
The find assumes significance in the wake of the Malegaon bomb blasts, in which 31 people were killed last Friday.
