Heavy rains predicted in North East states

Pune, Sep 10 (UNI) The southwest monsoon has been active over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and Kerala. It has been subdued over Jharkhand, Bihar, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujrat state, Konkan and Goa, Marathwada and Andhra Pradesh state.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal and Sikkim.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Bihar, Andman and Nicobar Islands and at a few places in Orissa, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, interior Karnataka and at isolate places in Haryana, Punjab, north Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, Gujrat state, Marathwada, Telangana and Rayalseema. Mainly dry weather will prevail over south Rajasthan.
