Governor urges banks to expand rural network
Panaji, Sep 10 (UNI) Goa Governor S C Jamir today urged banks to expanding their network in rural areas for the benefit of the villagers.
Participating in the centenary celebrations of the Bank of India here yesterday, the Governor called for innovative and well conceived programmes to generate employment.
Appreciating the role of the bank, the Governor said banks could witness further growth if they adopted an approach combining commerce with social and national priorities.
''The banks should play the role of catalysts and drivers of socio-economic change,'' Mr Jamir observed.
