Egypt set new date for charity match against Lebanon
CAIRO, Sep 10 (Reuters) Egypt have re-arranged a friendly international to raise funds for victims of the recent conflict in Lebanon for Oct. 3, the Egyptian Football Association said today.
The game between the African champions and Lebanon will be played in Cairo just days before Egypt head to Botswana for an African Nations Cup qualifier on October 7.
It had originally been scheduled for September. 5 but was postponed after the deaths of three players at the end of last month.
The collapse on a training pitch from heart failure of international fullback Mohamed Abdelwahab on Aug. 28 had been preceded two days earlier by the death in a car crash of two players from premier league club Tersana.
