DGP rewards police team for killing Hiz commander Billoo

Jammu, Sep 10 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) Gopal Sharma has given a reward of Rs six lakh cash to the police personnel, who killed the top Hizbul Commander and longest surviving militant Wasim Khan, alias Billoo Gujjar, last week.

The DGP visited Ramban police district and distributed Rs 6 lakh in cash among the police team of the Special Task Force (STF) yesterday. While handing over the cash prize, Mr Sharma said that entire police department was proud of the police personnel, who killed the Hizbul Mujahideen's divisional commander.

''Such performance should be carried on in the future to rid the state of terrorism. The sky is the limit for such police personnel as far as promotions and rewards are concerned,'' he said.

DGP also announced all 19 police personnel involved in Billoo's killing will be given out-of-turn promotions while the services of Special Police Officers (SPOs) would be regularised.
