AP to introduce 'online gas booking' by this month end

Hyderabad, Sep 10 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh government will introduce 'online gas booking' system - - the first of its kind in the country - - by the end of this month, state Agriculture and Civil Supplies Minister N Raghuveera Reddy announced today.

Addressing the media, the minister said that the Civil Supplies department was developing the software to introduce the online gas booking system which would also check the irregularities that took place during the gas distribution.

Stating that 721 gas dealers were distributing gas to 1.05 crore consumers who had gas connections in the state, Mr Reddy said the new software would enable the government to supply gas to every consumer without any delay.

He said that the government would also supply iodized salt through Public Distribution System (PDS) at the rate of Rs four per kg while other state governments were charging Rs 8 per kg.
