Mulayam honours MISA-DIR detenues; announces free medical treatment

Lucknow, Sep 9 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today announced to provide free-medical facilities to all MISA and DIR detenues of the emergency period.

In a function to honour MISA and DIR detenues here, Mr Yadav said the state government would bear all cost of the medical treatment of the detenues.

The Mulayam Singh government had already announced a monthly pension of Rs 500 and free travel on Roadways buses for the MISA and DIR detenues in UP.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said his government has stepped up developmental works in the state and would not lag behind in taking the state ahead.
